What is Golf Handicap Calculator?

Under the World Handicap System (WHS), a score differential measures performance on a specific golf course relative to standard course difficulty.

How to Use This Calculator

The Mathematical Formula & Variables

Score Differential = (113 / Slope Rating) * (Gross Score - Course Rating - PCC)

Step-by-Step Worked Example

Scenario: Gross score of 85 on a course with rating 71.5 and slope 125.

  1. 85 - 71.5 - 0 = 13.5 strokes above scratch.
  2. Multiply by 113 / 125 = 0.904.
  3. 13.5 * 0.904 = 12.204 -> rounded to 12.2.

Result: 12.2 Score Differential
